Welcome to Nairobi!

     It is our esteem pleasure to invite you to attend a historical event in Nairobi, Kenya. The African American Ethnic Sports Hall of Fame will induct some of Kenya's greatest athletes at the elegant and historical Sarova Stanley Hotel on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, and you are invited to participate.
 
    History will be made on this day and we would be honored to have you join us for this unprecedented opportunity. The festivities will bring honor to African athletes and the contributions they have made to sports throughout the world. It will be an amazing opportunity to bring Africa and the USA closer together.  The entire event will be televised and video taped for later broadcast in the USA by Postimpressions.
 
    Those traveling with us will be given the opportunity to meet with members of the Kenya Tourism Board, Members of the Parliament, Minister of Sports, elected officials, coffee and tea plantations owners; and have opportunities to develop relationships with Kenyans for manufacturing and import and export initiatives in Africa. Transportation is being provided by Ethiopian Airlines, the official carrier and travel partner of the Hall of Fame.
 
     We will depart from Dulles Airport on October 19th and arriving Nairobi on October 21st (arrangements are being made to stay at the Dulles Hyatt on the 18th for a Bon Voyage and get aquatinted reception and special hotel rate will be available by August 26th). We will return on October 28th to Dulles. The airfare quoted will include fare from the West coast, all taxes, and visa. Other activities will be offered on an option basis (see below). We have a total of 20 seats available and will be booked on a "first come first served basis."
Included in the trip will be options for a safari, visit to coffee & tea plantations, University of Nairobi, National Museum, National Park and wild animal preserves, a short safari (4 hours), among other taylor made activities upon request.
 
 
Costs:
 
RT air including all taxes, ticket(s) to the ceremony, and visa $1,496.15. Ground transportation to and from airport per six seater bus $55  (average $10.00 per person). Note: Drivers are certified professionals and belong to KPSGA (Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association). They have an in-depth knowledge of routes, conditions, local attractions and proficient in the identification of animals and birds of Kenya. 
 
Payment:
25% deposit to reserve seat by September 10th (fully refundable if canceled by September 20th with charge of 15% administrative fee. After September 20th no refunds will be granted).
Balance by September 20th. NO RESERVATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER SEPTEMBER 25TH!!

Holiday Inn Nairobi $70.00 per night (single occupancy, double occupancy $90.00) bed & breakfast
 
Sarova Stanley Hotel   $110.00 per night (single occupancy, double occupancy $130.00 bed & breakfast

Nairobi National Park and animal Orphanage: 
4 hours  $65.00 per person
Karen Blixen Museum:
Handmade ceramic jewelry making at Kazure and the Giraffe Centre. 4 hours $45.00 per person
Nairobi City Tour: 
City centre, shopping areas, Parliament Buildings, National Museum and Snake Park 2 hours $32.00 per person
Limuru Country Tour:
Half day lunch and afternoon tea on Kiambethu Estate, with lecture on local history, a walk in the forest and tea plantations. $55.00 per person. 
Visit to Jomo Kenyatta grave site, University of Nairobi, and Museum:
Half day $35.00 per person
Coffee & Tea Plantations:
Half day $50.00 per person
