October 10, 2007, special event
honoring athletes who have committed to their community at Faz
Restaurant in Livermore, California.
November 2, 2007, Inaugural Spouse
and Partners Award Ceremony in Palm Springs California was a smashing
success! We honored the following spouses for their life long support
of their spouses with our Forgotten Hero Award: Charlene
Carlos (wife of Olympian Dr. John Carlos), Barbara Flores (wife of
former Oakland Raider Tom Flores), Alicia Gwynn (wife of baseball’s
Tony Gwynn), Deljeet O’Ree (wife of Willie O’Ree, first Black to play
in the NHL), Cynthia Johnson (wife of tennis pro Don Johnson), Judy
Pace-Flood (wife of Curt Flood), and Henrietta Gardner (wife of Pancho
Gonzales). A special award was presented to Ken Kestenbaum, an 80-year
old veteran who received our Military Award *
February 9, 2008, Fifth Annual Bay
Area Induction Ceremony at the Temple On The Hill Theater in Oakland.
We inducted eight retired athletes from all sporting disciplines and
honored ten community leaders with various awards The Hall presented
its Sense of Community Award to Comcast, Wells Fargo, and PG&E.

August 8, 2008, Fourth Annual
Induction Ceremony in Dorado, Puerto Rico where we will induct six
Puerto Ricans into the Hall. Date, and inductees will be available on
our Web site July 2008. **
July 2008, First Annual Hall of
Fame Excursion from New York to Canada. We will follow the steps of
the escaped slaves through the Underground Railroad, and visit the
City of Africville in Halifax, Nova Scotia, among other historical
sites. Information will be on our Web site. * POSTPONED UNTIL 2009
August 16, 2008, Annual Induction
Ceremony in Harlem, New York in the Executive Room at the Adam Clayton
Powell State Building 2113 Adam Clayton Powell Blvd. ~ Inductee list

October 25 2008, Second Annual
Spouse and Partners Ceremony Palm Springs. We will honor eight of our
Hall of Famers spouses and partners with our Forgotten Heroes Award.
